Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies is a baked chocolate chip cookie recipe, that makes 54 cookies.

Ingredients

• 1 cup (240 g; 8½ oz) shortening
• 1 cup (180 g; 6¼ oz) brown sugar
• 2 tsp vanilla
• 2 cups (280 g; 9¾ oz) white flour
• ½ tsp baking powder
• ¼ tsp salt
• ¼ cup (60 ml; 2 fl oz) water
• 1½ cups (115 g; 4 oz) chocolate chips

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C or gas mark 4).
2. Beat shortening for 30 seconds.
3. Add brown sugar and continue to beat till well blended.
4. Add vanilla and mix well.
5. Mix in the baking powder, salt and the flour.
6. Beat thoroughly.
7. Add the water, followed by the chocolate chips.
8. Using a teaspoon, mould a teaspoonful of dough and place carefully on a cookie sheet.
9. Bake for 10 minutes.
10. Cool on a wire rack.
