  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Blend in egg. Combine flour and salt in a medium bowl. Gradually add to butter mixture and mix and knead until dough forms.
  3. Take pieces of dough and roll into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheets. Flatten balls slightly if desired.
  4. Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
