  1. Melt caramels with ⅓ cup milk in the microwave.
  2. Stir until smooth.
  3. Combine remaining milk, mix and margarine.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Press half of cake mixture into the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 baking pan.
  6. Bake 350°F for 6 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle with 1 cup walnuts, chocolate pieces over the crust top.
  8. With caramel mixture spreading to the edges of the pan.
  9. Top with teaspoonfuls of remaining cake mixture.
  10. Sprinkle with walnuts - press lightly into the top.
  11. Bake for 350°F for 20 minutes.
  12. Cool slightly; cut into bars.
