Makes 48 cookies

Ingredients[]

  • 3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¾ cup honey
  • 2 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp if Watkins
  • ¾ cup unsweetened carob chips
  • ½ cup chopped nuts, or sunflower seeds (optional)

Directions[]

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour and baking soda.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine applesauce, honey and vanilla.
  3. Add dry ingredients to liquid ingredients.
  4. Add carob chips and nuts (if desired) and mix well.
  5. Drop cookie dough by teaspoonfuls onto a non-stick or lightly oiled cookie sheet.
  6. Flatten dough with fork.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 13 minutes.
