This chocolate cake has a cherry pie filling between the 2 round cake layers and a chocolate sauce on top and on bottom layer, garnished with white chocolate and chocolate curls.

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare and bake cake mix as package directs for two 9 inch round layers.
  3. Remove from pans, cool.
  4. In saucepan, melt chocolate chips with condensed milk. Cook and stir until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in milk. Cool 10 minutes.
  6. Combine cherry pie filling with almond extract.
  7. Place 1 cake layer on serving plate, top side up
  8. Remove crust from top of cake to within ½ inch of edge, top with half of the chocolate mixture, then the cherries.
  9. Top with second cake layer and remaining chocolate mixture.
  10. Garnish with white chocolate and chocolate curls.
